Christmas is over and the New Year just around the corner. Also my 50th birthday is looming.

I will be celebrating with a few friends and a few dogs, so i’m looking forward to that.

We had a quiet Christmas with family and thought about why Christmas came to be and hope we can be better people next year.

We still have not harvested our grain as our contracter is running very late, but he will arrive shortly I suppose.

We did however load about 1900 sheep onto the trucks.

Three large B Trains rolled in one after the other so we had plenty of helpers as you can see in the photos.

The weather was not too hot on the day and the sheep loaded quite well. Sometimes sheep can be difficult to load onto a truck.

This photo was an old retired truckies dog.

The dogs are all having a spell , but I must soon start to train some of the young ones again.

Sadly Zinc has gone to a new home. As hard as it is, it is often the best thing for the dog, we feel bad about it but the dogs just moves on with life with hardly a backward glance.

Blizzard so coming along well, but going through a timid period now as they often do at this age.

Here she is enjoying a romp with Leena.

I have hatched out a few peachicks this year and still have some eggs left in the incubator. So far no white ones which is unusual. Hopefully soon as I have people waiting for them.

No these are not dead, just asleep.

Still on the poultry side of things, Sam is a bit of a chook whisperer, and the chooks really like her.

Here she is with some of her chooky friends.

She has names for many of them, this is Choopa, who was the runt of the litter, so to speak.

The weather is getting very warm now, so we get up early, do all our chores then stay inside until late evening when we emerge to feed, excercise animals etc.

At least we have had some entertaining cricket on the television.

It is not often you see cricketers nearly trading blows. Supposed to be a gentlemens sport.

Unlike football where they seem to be  allowed to bash each other.

Sorry to football fans, I hate the game, and those who think that because they are a footballer they can do as they please outside the game as well is within it.

More skill in cricket I say. (Covering my head and waiting for the flood of emails disputing my claim.)
